Assistant Adjunct Professor, Educational Leadership Program

The Department of Education at the UCLA Graduate School of Education & Information is seeking a full-time Assistant Adjunct Professor (non tenure-track) to serve in the Educational Leadership Program (ELP). GSE&IS is a vibrant intellectual community with an emphasis on issues of urban education and equity in education. This candidate will be a core faculty member of the Educational Leadership Program, a self-supporting Ed.D. degree program. ELP students are experienced practitioners in pre-K – 16 schools and colleges and in allied areas of education. ELP strives to hone students’ theoretical and practical knowledge about pre-K – 16 educational topics and about leadership. The program is committed to educating practitioners who can improve equity, access and outcomes for all students.

Qualifications

The candidate must have a doctorate in education or a related field by date of hire (July 1, 2019), university-level teaching experience, and a record of research-based publications.

Responsibilities

The candidate will teach several courses each year, serve on doctoral committees, and participate in admissions, program development and evaluation. The courses taught may include current topics and theories in schooling and leadership. The candidate will focus on a specific area related to pre-K – 16 education and/or data collection methodologies. In addition, the candidate will have limited responsibility for research, university and professional service.
